    Half-length seated portrait of Jean Rodolphe Perronet within an oval architectural frame. Perronet is shown turned towards his left and is looking out towards the viewer. He holds a pen in his right hand, with other pens and architectural tools visible on his desk. He is shown wearing an ornate jacket with fleur-de-lis buttons over a frilled shirt and a silk sash. He wears a short wig and is presented against a dark background.
