Half-length portrait of Roger Pickering in a jacket, waistcoat and bands. He is shown holding a small book in his right hand with his index finger keeping it open to a certain page. His posture is turned slightly towards his left, with his left hand is placed on his chest. He is seen wearing a shoulder-length wig and is looking out towards the viewer. Engraved from life by the artist.
