    Half-length portrait of Edward Roberts in profile, facing towards his left. He wears an open jacket with a high collar, a white cravat and a wig that covers the tops of his ears. His face is shown in the most detail, with the lower portion of his jacket left unshaded.

    Inscribed below: ‘EDWARD ROBERTS M.D.’ ‘Geo Dance delt June 12 1798.’ ‘Wm Daniell Fecit.’ ‘Published as the Act directs, for Geo Dance Esqr R.A. Upper Gower Street, April 10, 1802.’

    Edward Roberts (c.1763-1846), British physician, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1799.
