Printed below the image: “J.Valentine Dundee”. Various inscribed on the reverse including a Royal badge “UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF THE QUEEN” and a facsimile signature of the photographer: “Photographed by Jas. Valentine DUNDEE.”
Sir David Brewster was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1815.
