Description
Half-length portrait of Robert Stawell Ball turned to the left as viewed and seated at a writing table.
Printed below the image: “MAULL & FOX, 187a PICCADILLY, LONDON”. The reverse has various inscriptions including a series of printed coats of arms and “MAULL & FOX PHOTOGRAPHERS TO THE ROYAL FAMILY Portrait and Miniature Painters, 187A, PICCADILLY LONDON. Marion Imp. Paris.” There is a manuscript inscription that includes a negative number: “Sir R.S.Ball F.R.S. 181504c”.
Sir Robert Stawell Ball was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1873.
