                                An anatomical study of the stomach of a water rat, inverted. Various parts of the stomach are labelled with letters that correspond to descriptions given in the published paper.
The work is inscribed above with plate details and below 'Internal View. Natural Size. Water-Rat.' Not signed. Royal Society stamp verso. Embossed lower left 'J. Parsons Bristol'.

Everard Home (1756-1832), British surgeon, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1787, delivered the Croonian Lecture on numerous occasions between 1790 and 1829, and received the Copley Medal in 1807.
