Description
Carte-de-visite full length studio portrait of Charles Anderson. Anderson is shown standing with his left hand resting on a chair, the right held behind his back. Inscribed verso by William Fletcher Barrett: “Sergt C Anderson Assistant at RI [Royal Institution] since 1827. Given me by him in 1865 WFB. He died the end of that year a [illeg] - 1866. A capital likeness”. Engraved below the image “E Aldis, Phot.”and engraved verso, within a vignette of an artist’s palette, “E. Aldis, Langham Photographic Studio, Portland Bazaar, Langham Place, London”.
