Description
Plate 11 figure 34 for the paper "Observations of nebulae and clusters of stars, made at Slough, with a twenty-feet reflector, between the years 1825 and 1833", by Sir John Frederick William Herschel, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, v.123 (1833), pp.359-505. The object is illustrated with a scale of 0-30 minutes at the lower edge, not on the published plate. Inscribed verso, in pencil, "An innumerable multitude of stars cover the whole ground of the heavens and there are probably many more than there here laid down on the nebula. NB This very ill done & on bad paper must be drawn over again.". With right ascension and North polar distance. Dated in pencil "From sweeps 198, 199 and a drawing taken Nov 25 1832."
