Description
Botanical study of a specimen of capsicum, or red pepper, inscribed in ink: "Capsicum fructu pendulo rugossissimo Africanum Rand". Isaac Rand was Praefectus Horti of Chelsea Physic Garden, 1724-43, where this plant was most likely cultivated. Not signed.
