Landscape view, showing a 19th century gentleman field geologist in outdoor clothing, seated while writing or drawing in a notebook. Inscribed below: " Lime-Kiln, & Chalk Pit near Wells, Norfolk with oblique ascending veins of thin Flint. also horizontal layers of tabular flint. Drawn by G.J.Rose." The drawing is signed, lower right "G.J.Rose". Not dated.
