Three quarter length seated portrait holding a quill pen in his right hand with this arm resting on a table, upon which is an open book. Large shelved volumes behind, one with the spine title “Art of Printing”. Coat of arms upper right.
Inscribed below: “THOS.HODGETTS SCULPT. JOSEPH AMES, F.R.S. & F.S.A. In pencil lower left “1743”.
