Inscribed: “L.Wyon. C.W.Sharpe. PROFESSOR BRANDE, D.C.L., F.R.S. OF HER MAJESTY’S MINT. WILLIAM MACKENZIE, GLASGOW, EDINBURGH, LONDON & NEW-YORK.” With a facsimile signature of W.T.Brande.
William Thomas Brande was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1809.
