Oval half length portrait of Caulfield in profile, wearing a ribbon and star.
Inscribed: “H.HONE A.R.A. pinxt. T.NUGENT [active 1790-1793]. Sculpt. Earl of Charlemont. London Publish’d Feb,1st.1790, for H.Hone in Dublin.” Inscribed in pencil lower left “1755” and lower right “1s”.
James Caulfeild was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1755.
