Inscribed: “Engraved by D.J.Pound from a Photograph by Mayall. THE RIGHT HONOURABLE LORD LYNDHURST, F.R.S. D.C.L.”
Originally prepared for The drawing-room portrait gallery of eminent personages. Principally from photographs by Mayall in Her Majesty's private collection, and from the studios of the most celebrated photographers in the Kingdom. Engraved on steel by D. J. Pound (1859)
John Singleton Copley was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1826.
