Oval head and shoulders portrait of Hughes de Lyonne wearing a sash ribbon and cross.
Long inscription containing the subject’s honours and offices, commencing and concluding: “N de L’armessin, Sculpebat 1661. Mre HUGHUES DE LIONNE...A Paris Chez P.Bertrand Rue St Jacques a la Pomme d’Or Proche St Severin. Avec Privil, du Roy”. In pencil lower left; “Elec 1665”.
Hughes de Lionne was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1665.
