[Royal Society Journal Book, Original, JBO/7, meeting of 27 February 1684, p.213]. The painting is noted as being in the Society’s holdings in early museum catalogues. [Royal Society Manuscript MS/414 section 11 ‘Artificial Curiosities’, p.20].
