Description
Half-length portrait of John Edward Gray, seated in a red leather armchair, body turned to the viewer’s left. Gray is dressed in a black coat, waistcoat and tie, with a white shirt. He is shown wearing gold-rimmed spectacles and a signet ring on his left hand, which also holds a sheet of paper.
