    Plate 2 from the Croonian Lecture paper "Microscopical observations on the suspension of the muscular motions of the Vibria Tritici", by Francis Bauer, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol.113 (1823), pp.1-16. Figure 1 shows a group of worms of the wheat gall nemotode (Anguina tritici) in water and seen in the microscope field at x100 magnification. Figure 2 shows living and decaying worms in water at x200 magnification. Inscribed with publication and plate details. Signed in ink lower left "Franz Bauer del." and in pencil lower right "Js Basire sc." Royal Society stamp verso.
