Description
Plate 15 from the paper "On the double organs of generation of the lamprey, the conger eel, the common eel, the barnacle, and the earthworm, which impregnate themselves; though the last from copulating, appear mutually to impregnate one another", by Everard Home, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol.113 (1823), pp.140-151. Figures 1-4 show the ovaries and testicles of the lamprey, at magnifications of x2 and x5. Figures 5-7 show the ovaries, testicles and air bladder of the conger eel, at natural size and at magnifications of x5 and x50. Inscribed with publication and plate details.
