Description
Zoological studies of two specimens of Aaarvark, or Cape anteater (modern taxonomy Orycteropus afer). Although posed in a landscape, as in life, the printed notes to this figure indicate that they are stuffed specimens, sent from the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, to Stuttgart, Germany, by Carl Ferdinand Heinrich von Ludwig (1784-1847), where they were drawn.
