Description
Marine zoological study of the violet blanket octopus (Tremoctopus violenceus). The cephalopod is presented from above with an inset detail of the underside, including funnel, anus and gonads.
Plate 20 in the section “G.Poulpe” from the book Histoire naturelle generale et particuliere des cephalopodes acetabuliferes vivants et fossiles.., by André Étienne d'Audebert de Férussac (1786-1836) and Alcide Charles Victor Marie Dessalines d'Orbigny (1802-1857) (Paris, 1848).
