Description
Anatomical study showing the effect of cholera on the small intestine, including the peeling of the mucilaginous layers of the intestinal epithelium. Detailing the swelling of Peyer’s patches and isolated follicules (figure 1), the swollen mesenteric lymph nodes (figure 2) and the effect on the mucous membrane including illustrations of hyperaemia (figures 4 & 5) and anaemia with suffusions of blood (figure 3).
